Kristen Stewart (Twilight) plays Georgia, a young woman with Friedreich’s ataxia – a disease that causes nerve damage and eventual heart disease – beautifully and it’s impossible not to love Elizabeth Ashley as Georgia’s free spirited grandmother. I absolutely loved this movie, although there was one serious flaw, so let’s get to that now.

The Cake Eaters was written by Jayce Bartok who also plays the completely unnecessary role of Beagle’s older brother Guy. I kept waiting for something to happen with his character that factored into the story, but it never amounted to anything. He shows up, does his thing and is in the final scene of the movie, but he really has no impact on the movie at all. Jayce gave a great performance in the movie and wrote a great script but his character seemed to be written in as an excuse to cast himself in the movie.

Aside from that, I really have no complaints about the movie. Some people are frustrated by the ending (which I won’t ruin here) but I love a movie that doesn’t wrap everything up in a neat package and lets you draw your own conclusions. If that isn’t your thing, you might want to skip The Cake Eaters.

Strengthened by great performances, The Cake Eaters is a great movie and proves Kristen Stewart has  promising career far beyond Bella Swan.

Samantha. Charlotte. Miranda. The four fine and fierce females from Sex and the City are back with Sex and the City: The Movie, and it’s about time! I have only been waiting for this since the first whispered rumors that the ladies would be coming to the big screen, but never in my wildest dreams imagined that it would actually happen. Yet here it is – the movie I’d been waiting for. Was it everything I hoped it would be? Definitely!

The addition of Jennifer Hudson was brilliant. I love that girl like I love kittens, and I am a girl that likes her kittens. She fit in perfectly. As always, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristen Davis and Cynthia Nixon were delicious as the big city ladies we love so much.

Sex and the City: The Movie proves it’s possible to take a brilliant tv show and make a movie out of it without making it feel like more of the same or losing anything that made the originator so special. I can’t wait for the sequel.

This is a movie best watched with a group of girlfriends, lots of snacks and a good bottle of wine for a girl’s night in. The clothes, the comedy, the drama… the sex!!! This may be the perfect chick flick!
