He’s Just Not That Into You (2009)
Finally a movie that tells the truth. Ladies, we’ve all been there. We’re upset because of some guy we know we’re in love with and all our friends gather around making excuses for him – well, to make us feel better would probably be more accurate. They mean well, of course, but in the end, it only makes the situation worse. We hold out hope for lost causes far longer than we should and don’t move on. For this reason, He’s Just Not That Into You is required viewing for any woman going through a breakup or dealing with the messy emotions of what turns out to be a one night stand.
All the scenarios are covered here. The explanation, as it so often is in real life, is always the same. He’s Just Not That Into You. Say it. Feel it. Sulk over it. Get over it.
The cast is ridiculous. Jennifer Aniston, Ben Affleck, Justin Long, Gennifer Goodwin (she’s the one that looks like a million other actress.), Drew Barrymore, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Connelly, Scarlett Johansson, Kevin Connelly and even a little cameo by Kris Kristofferson. I really don’t know what else to say about the cast. Phenomenal.
He’s Just Not That Into You says everything your friends should say when you find yourself in that lonely place called Rejectionville. More than that, it goes a step further and tries to tell you how to avoid ending up there again. Sure there is a bit of a cliched and expected ending, but it feels a little nice to see the boys get a taste of their own medicine.
Necessary viewing for anyone who has ever been the victim of love’s downside.
